HDPE pipe (High-Density Polyethylene pipe)-known internationally as *High Density Polyethylene*-is a new type of piping manufactured through an extrusion molding process using high-density polyethylene as the raw material. Its production requires the selection of HDPE resins characterized by high molecular weight and superior mechanical properties, thereby distinguishing its performance from that of LDPE resins (which exhibit lower tensile strength and poor pressure resistance). This piping serves as a substitute for traditional metal pipes and PVC pipes; it operates within a pressure range of 0.25 to 1.6 MPa and features excellent chemical corrosion resistance, low-temperature impact resistance (effective from -60℃ to +60℃), light weight, high flexibility, and a long service life. Furthermore, it utilizes electrofusion joining technology to ensure the structural integrity of its connections. Although LDPE possesses inferior mechanical properties, its high sanitary standards make LLDPE resin a commonly used material for the production of potable water pipes. HDPE piping is primarily applied in fields such as municipal water supply and drainage, gas transmission, water conservancy projects, and nuclear power plant circulating cooling water systems.
